The Cycling Federation recently received some used (overused) equipment from the Sports Commission and we are trying to salvage them to be serviceable for any use for grassroots development.

You should take note of the conversions made here since it is a product of costly experimentation.

This Giant XTC came just as a frame, no fork, no headsets, even the dropout is missing. I wonder how much the previous user sold the parts for his food maybe. He is just as pathetic as he can be.

It is expected to finish this xtc as a gravel bike without any further race projections.

Giant XTC 26er to 700c

TOTAL WEIGHT: 9.2 KILOS

Parts used were mostly Lazada supplied except for the rubbers and inner tubes. I was thinking of high end parts, but the cost is too high, while I can have the same bike at a lower cost. This is an ascend bike and I will not worry about steep ascents anymore.

11 Speed with 50T Sunshine cogs

At Php 10,181.00, and after riding the bike, I would say that this is the best bike that I have ever used better than my giant tcr advance pro. The pedaling is soft and easy. The Seat post with a shock absorber is plush and relieving. The old front rock shocks was loaded with 50psi of air to afford an easy suspension. Lacking in air before, the shock frame was touching the tires. Giving it 80psi was quite a hard ride. The swallow mtb bar on it made the ride easier.

With 700c x 25mm I still have 13.5mm clearance before it hits the frame. The final tire is a 700C x 35mm.

I have still 2mm after fitting the 700c x 35mm. The brake bosses on this rockshox were missing since it was previously on disc brakes. This is waiting for the 8mm brake bosses. Rear bosses are 10mm or M10.

There is no clearance on a race bike front fork using a 700c x 35mm. Moreover , there is no mounting for a vbrake, and the caliper brake will be too tight for the 35mm. There is no other option.
2mm rear clearance will be just fine. Note the very long arm of the litepro vbrakes when using a 700c. Some drilling of a 2mm hole for the brakes may be required. I replaced the litepro pads with racingbpads since the supplied pads and fixing bolts are touching the frame.
Ragusa cable brake levers and the AX 11s shifter are fine as well.
IXF Hallow cranks on 36T
With this conversion to 700c, the 35mm Smart Sam is the biggest you can fit. Shifting to 650B will have greater clearance but it will be costly.
The cheap WAKE stem on the Carbon swallow handlebar 720mm finished the whole project.
